Sophia has a Board of Directors (BoD) in the USA and an Advisory Committee (AC) in Chennai, India. The members of the BoD and AC are dedicated, philanthropic professionals who volunteer their effort for Sophia with integrity and fairness

Sophia is a reputed institution in service of humanity performing its mission with utmost integrity, excellence and public respect.

Sophia’s mission is to improve the lives of deserving and financially disadvantaged families through the gift of education (Vidhya Dhaan) to the academically outstanding students to enable them to attain their full potential.

• Award scholarships covering the tuition, boarding, lodging and other education-related costs to a minimum of eight new (per year) brilliant, needy students entering engineering and medical colleges in India.

• Provide financial resources to deserving students regardless of race, religion, caste, sex, language and location within India.

• Provide an environment and encouragement to the graduating scholars to stay in touch with each other and Sophia so that they can participate in Sophia’s mission when they succeed in life, and
  

• Expand the donor base of Sophia to be able to maintain the current annual number of scholarships as well as to increase the number over the next few years.
